Hazing Investigation at UNC

seems to have been a part of of a WR vs. DBs position group prank war that kept escalating and eventually got way out of control. Don't think "hazing" is accurate, but "assault" seems appropriate.

Probably an assault fueled by the lines of cocaine the players snorted off of hookers down in the lobby bar at the party financed by a few agents, attended by the athletic tutors and sponsored by the AA Studies department.

This is especially interesting:

“UNC Football is actively covering up both players involved and the extent of the violence that occurred on 8/4/14,” Cole Boyer, Jackson’s older brother, wrote on Twitter. “4 players isn’t even 25% of group that assaulted my brother, leaving him unconscious and badly concussed.”

A source close to the family said that the Boyers have hired an attorney.

the kid's mom is quoted in the news today as wanting "justice" for her son. Man, how great would it have been if the thing was flipped and it was 4 white scholarship players who beat up on a black kid who was a lowly walk-on. With Al and Jesse surely all over it and on top of all the other sins of the UNC athletic dept., that would be the tipping point for them to finally receive severe punishment.
But look for this latest transgression to fade over time as will all the others.
