Moonz is either getting the help he needs or has moved to a Russian troll farm to finally get paid for his efforts.
On the day after the 2016 election, a pro-Trump FBI agent texted another, saying that “shit just got real” and joked that some people would have to “start looking for new jobs,” DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz’s report released Monday reveals.
According to the report, the handling agent, the co-case handling agent, and the special agent for one of the FBI’s Confidential Human Source (CHS), were all fans of Donald Trump, and exchanged text messages about their support.
On November 9, 2016, the special agent texted, “if you hear talk of a special prosecutor…I will volunteer to work [on] the Clinton Foundation.”
He also said that he was “so elated with the election” and said it was like watching the Superbowl.
Regarding these comments, he later told the Office of Inspector General that he “fully expected Hillary Clinton to walk away with the election.”
“But as the returns [came] in…it was just energizing to me to see…[because] I didn’t want a criminal to be in the White House.”
The former British spy who authored several reports alleging links between Russia and President Trump’s 2016 campaign had been a personal friend of Trump’s daughter Ivanka, a relationship that he said made him “favorably disposed” to the Trump family.
The previously unknown friendship between former intelligence officer Christopher Steele and Ivanka Trump was alluded to in a new report released Monday by the Justice Department’s inspector general, which said Steele had “been friendly” with a Trump family member, a relationship he described as “personal.”
Steele told investigators he had visited the Trump family member at Trump Tower in New York and had once gifted the person a family tartan from Scotland.
The president’s supporters have suggested that Steele was biased against Trump, noting that Justice Department official Bruce Ohr told the FBI in November 2016 that Steele had been “desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not becoming the U.S. president.”
But according to the report, Steele told investigators that when he took on the research assignment, he was not opposed to Trump. If anything, he said, he was “favorably disposed” to the Trump family because of his past relationship with the Trump family member.
It’s like their own report showed everything they believe to be false.
Republicans believe they are above the law. It’s horrible. Their cult base completely buys into it and that cult has infiltrated the military, criminal justice, and so many walks of public and private life. Thankfully their only a few left on these boards.
So what would happen if the IG report include false information? What rules was the IG bound to follow?
Like if the IG purposely falsified information in the report? I assume that would get kicked to Congress for an investigation and potential removal of the inspector general.
