Homeland Season 2 thread

People are wayyy too critical but some of the critiques are valid.

I think Season 3 if its Saul/Carrie centric could be great, esp if they use Virgil and his weird cousin more!

Like Go, I'm not ready to give up on it yet. If they just bury Brody and family for the time being and start after a new terror suspect, things could look like season 1 again.

People that are saying this show is stupid because the CIA is too smart for this plot need to remember that about a dozen idiots who sat around jerking off to porn the night before stole four airplanes, wrecked the Pentagon and brought the World Trade Centers down after learning how to fly single engine air planes and playing flight control games on their computer.

If 9/11 had been a movie before the event can you imagine the detail experts on this board?

Dana is one of the worst characters on television.

I think Brodie did it.

I thought Dana redeems herself.

When she calls out her dad finally, thought it was the right move at the time.

Followed this show for 2 years just to see the bad guys win in the end and traitor Brodie get away without being killed in the face. Sucked.

I'm only halfway through the second season; the opening episode and the Carrie/Brody interrogation scene have been the highlights so far. The episode where Brody misses his speech to rescue the terrorist in Gettysburg was terrible TV.

Carrie is good but Saul makes the show just like he made Criminal Minds, and he plays a similar role in both.

when he was getting ready in the morning?

i hated the friday night lights-like hit and run plotline. it was awful and i almost fast forwarded through any scenes about it. and she was completely insufferable in the safe house.

Dana is the worst. Why couldn't she have been at the funeral and died in the blast? FUCK.

i think he was in on it. when brodie was recounting his afternoon with nazir, he left out the end where they were praying together. i think he was down with the new plan.

The lady and I just fired through both seasons of Homeland over the course of a few weeks. Some generally great TV mixed with with some not-so-great TV. Damian Lewis is excellent; Claire Danes is solid, but spends most of her time either wide-eyed or crying. Doesn't strike me as someone with much range.

I'm hopeful that there is more involvement from Quinn in season 3. That character became more and more intriguing as season 2 went on. I also agree with some prior posts that the Saul/Carrie relationship might be the strongest of the show. Saul has to be at least somewhat suspicious of Carrie, given everything he knows.

I certainly wouldn't put this show near Mad Men or anywhere near Breaking Bad in terms of television's best. But it has its moments, has mostly strong characters, and likely an endless supply of real-world scenarios on which to develop plotlines. I just hope they don't waste their time in season 3 on Brody's family and their bullshit drama.

one of the hitfix.com guys blogged about the comic con panel. the creator gave what the reporters in the audience thought was a bit of a spoiler about season two. the creator said "feel free to write about it. i don't think it is a big deal."

brody does not appear in the first few episodes and would not say when he shows up or we find out what he is up to. the creators wanted that to be a surprise.

My wife is in that trailer a few times. She's been a paid extra on several episodes. Pretty interesting listening to what she has seen so far in the filming of season 3. I can sort of piece together most of season 3.

Why is there even a season 3? Season 2 was a miserable display of writing. It was so bad I blocked it out of my memory.
