Anyone care to weigh in, now that the election is over and Obama won, how long will it take the Repubs to begin talking impeachment?

Can't impeach a guy who isn't a legally elected American citizen.

A dear friend of mine believes Obama will be impeached over Benghazi, and that Hillary's career ends because of it.

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High crimes and Misdemeanors."
-U.S. Constitution Art. II.

What crime has he committed? They may have messed up but I have a hard time seeing any basis to charge him with a crime. Plus, he'd be tried by the Senate which is Dem controlled. This is a pipe dream for the right wing and an utter non-starter.

I posted this originally because this is how the exteme right thinks and I believe you will see this brought up soon.

Hasn't every second term president since Nixon at least faced threats of impeachment? Reagan had Iran-Contra, Clinton had Lewinsky (in more ways than one), Dennis Kucinich or someone actually introduced Articles of Impeachment against GW Bush that went nowhere.

Depends on where you think impeachment talk will originate. If you're talking about nut jobs like Limbaugh and Trump, you're too late. If you're talking about elected Republicans, it's probably not happening, unless someone gives a loony like Joe Wilson a platform for such.

Reagan broke his Oath of Office in Iran Contra.

Daddy Bush wasn't really investigated.

There was a witch hunt on Clinton. Lying about sex was not what the Founding Fathers would consider a "high crime of misdemeanor" or most of them would have been impeached.

W should have been investigated but wasn't.

Issa will likely go crazy and try to impeach Obama. It's too bad the let him out of the car theft cases.

Lying under oath is perjury. Perjury is a felony. The subject matter is far less important than the fact that what he lied about was the root of the original inquiry.

When did he lie? When did he lie under oath? Saying something that laters turns out to incorrect is not lying. Especially if you had evidence to support your statement, and concurrently made clear that you didn't have all the facts, and are still investigating. And the president also doesn't walk around under oath 24/7, or else Reagan would've been toast.

There is nothing here.

He's talking about RJ trying to claim Clinton's perjury wasn't a "high crime or misdemeanor."
