How many of the BoT are actual Wake alums?
Good question. Google perhaps?

I was a career losing record coming off a losing season. I can't fathom anyone was a fan of the hire
top 1% maybe. He's lost the middle and upper middle class deacs
He has the ones who matter. The rest of us don’t.
Yea, I just don’t agree with this. I represent many of the names synonymous with Wake athletics. The love is long gone. This is a Hatch problem.
Calling bs. Unless I misunderstand "represent." The question is does the success of football and to a lesser extent tennis, soccer, and baseball counterbalance the mistakes made in hoops? I think the answer is yes. I may not agree w it, but I also can't say Ron has thoroughly and completely sucked the last 10 yrs as AD. I'd like that narrative to be true but it just isn't.
Ron is not gonna retire. He wants to show everyone he can fix basketball, and given an unlimited amount of time and huge wads of cash, he just might luck out someday. But don't hold your breath.
Respectfully disagree.
I suspect/hope that at 70+ years, it will soon be suggested to him that it's time....like maybe June 1st. New AD comes in and first order of business is to delicately remove Manning and hopefully hire a gem ASAP.
donaldross isn't the first to post that there is a difference of opinion between Wellman and Hatch regarding Manning. This is not to say anything positive regarding Wellman's role in the basketball fiasco. He is and will remain responsible for the downfall. It has been suggested that Wellman finally realized that Manning should be replaced but that Hatch has been resistive. The terminology used was that Manning has Hatch in his pocket. Maybe so. At this point, the program is at an all time low and both Wellman and Hatch bear responsibility for its duration. If Manning's contract is fully guaranteed, both are responsible. Mistakes this enormous and long lasting generally require poor leadership and lack of accountability on multiple levels.
Yes, this. If there really is a buyout of the size reported this handicaps the entire university. That should be punishable if there exists any accountability. If ther is no accountability then the university as a whole is at risk.

Wellman's Achilles over the last decade is enthusiasm. It seems only soccer has managed to harness both local and alumni enthusiasm. And we are talking a few thousand. We will lose Clawson if we don't gin up rabid enthusiasm to accompany success. So far, it hasn't happened. RW seems to have a "build it and they will come philosophy." He's also focused on the comfort of the major donors. I think this is where he is vulnerable. There is no good reason why groves was half empty last year. It takes work to fold in local support and he has shat the bed. We lose Clawson if we don't work this problem.
Clawson is 28-35 (12-28) at WF. I mean I think he’s generally doing a good job but the idea he’s going to fly the coop any day now is not based in fact.
Wellman has destroyed the only sport at WF that (1) WF can be truly competitive in and (2) that people give a shit about.
