Maher is terrible. Save me the "but he allows opposing views" argument. He brings one conservative in and the joins in with the other 4 liberals on the panel in trying to embarrass the conservative guest.

Rush is equally terrible.

And btw, I don't even like Maher that much, I just happened to see Howard Dean on TV and wanted to see if BKF was in the audience.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what a RINO is. A true Republican would never say a kind word about the socialist Muslim Kenyan Keynesian "president" Obama, would have other true conservatives on his show, and would slap Mika for daring to speak out of turn.

I haven't listened to him in probably 10 years. Always thought he was just sort of goofy. Could be funny at times. But my overall impression is that he's just a clever blowhard making mint by hocking his schtick.

OTOH, those few I've known who were devotees...all dumb nuts. Passionate. Sincere. But dumb.

The model doesn't fit liberals. They're too wonky and soft and academic for rapid fire, cut-and-paste, out-of-context, fear-mongering cries of exasperation to fulfill their agenda. Liberals aren't drawn to sound-byte solutions. In the time it would take to explain our lengthy and group-thinked-to-death ideas, the listener changes the channel.

I listen to him often and he can make some very solid, well thought out points. But he has much more fun getting under the skin of the MSM. They quote him most every day, largely out of context and usually when he is intentionally absurd. That is one reason I like him. He doesn't care what other people say about him (wealth does that for you) and he enjoys throwing stuff out there. His latest schtick is news reports for "low information voters." He reads TMZ reports on air. I suspect most posters here, given the chance, would have a great time enjoying an adult beverage with him. He's not the bogeyman he's made out to be. But some of the callers are seriously out there. Like, really out there. Limbaugh, by comparison is fairly realistic about where the Republican party and the tag along conservative movement are really at. Deep shit at the moment. But I understand how a guy like Limbaugh is a lightning rod for liberal hatred. He created it. That's why he lives well in Palm Beach. The best thing the MSM could do is ignore him.
