John Collins and the draft

If Manu's NBA career doesn't get him into the hall of fame (and I think that it should), then his international career definitely will. Without question.

ETA: and stop ruining the John Collins thread, RChildress and jaybone. There are like 200000 other threads for you to ruin.

RC likes to use stats. Here are a couple for Manu's career:

VORP - 35th All Time
Defensive Rating 40th All Time
PER - 58th All Time
True Shooting PCT - 58.4 47th All Time
Win Share/48 minutes 24th All Time
Steal % - 36th All Time
4 Time NBA Champ

Remember he didn't get here until he was 25.

If you were never one of the ten best players in the league it's hard to call yourself a superstar without the word losing its meaning.

Being a likely first Hall of Famer, and playing in the modern era, doesn't make you a Hall of Famer in your mind?

I guess we have different opinion of a player becoming immortal.

Could it be that at the that time there were a ton of players of historic level? It could be easily argued that during much of Tony's career there were a bunch of the Top 25 players of All-Time playing:

Tim
Shaq
Kobe
Lebron
KD
CP3
Nash
KG (on the cusp)
Dwade (cusp)

Kind of a golden era of all timers.

rj and rchildress arguments are just the best

Tony was a borderline superstar at his prime, Manu never was. Not sure Manu is a lock for the hall based on his NBA career alone.

Won't discuss here but this is a link that I've posted before taking a look at manu's career through advanced metrics. Certainly does not tell the whole story but it peaks volumes about the kind of player and teammate he has been. Happy to discuss in another thread.

Can't wait in JC superstar takes over pg duties from Schroeder. Gotta get top 10-15 talent at that position.

How do these compare to Garrett Anderson's HOF credentials ?

Tedesco: John Collins already looks like he'll become a pretty good stretch-4 -- and maybe even stretch-5 -- after hiding most of those skills at Wake Forest. More than half of his college shot attempts were at the rim, and he attempted only one 3! He didn't really test his ability from deep range at summer league, but he made some nice plays out to the elbows, and I think he can extend further. At No. 19, that's a steal for the Hawks.

Under biggest surprise in this article:

Wake didn't need (or want) JC shoiting outside the paint.

Collins came off the bench in his preseason debut. He has 6 and 7 in 10 min. Game is on NBA TV.

Just got fouled by James Johnson.
