John Collins suspended 25 games for violation of NBA's Anti Drug Policy

These guys jobs are to know what goes in their body. They know it and every time they get busted cheating they blame it on unknowingly ingesting something. Its bullshit and now the ONE success Wake hoops could hang their hat on over the last 10 years has been ruined.

no pain, ro gain

Estimated at $610,000 according to Wash Post.

Its not just the money he losses this year is small compared to what he will NOT get in his next contract. This PEDs bust will cost him millions when the next contract is discussed.

Have to think that's gonna cost him a shitton of money. Who's the last guy to get a big contract after testing positive in the NBA?

Different circumstances, but Chris Anderson made $32 million after being reinstated from a year-long drug ban in 2006. Collins is also a much better player and salaries have ballooned over the past few years.

O.J. Mayo was able to command $8 mil/year in the mid-2010s after being suspended for a drug ban, before again being suspended for a drug ban which effectively ended his NBA career.

If Collins continues to excel he won't lose much money if this is the only mark on his record.

He's only 22 and already an all-star caliber player. It's not unreasonable that he is a max-contract type of player.

He is part of the Hawks future. He will get paid. Stupid and will cost him but he will get paid. What boggles the mind is why? He always out athleted almost everyone.

Yeah. He's a max guy. Hawks beat the Spurs without him though. Jabari Parker should be fine in his absence.

It will be a miracle if he was. Would save $18M.
