Wow just saw something about this guy the other night on The Factor and now just a few days later they catch him. I assume someone got a big payday for the tip.

Police have told the Rakes family the death appeared to be suicide, according to ABC. But a family source told the network "he had no phone, no wallet, and police are still looking for his car."

"Stippo would not kill himself. Absolutely not,'' Rakes' friend Steve Davis told ABC News.

"He was looking forward to taking the stand. He told me over and over he had a big bombshell to drop. He had everything to live for and was looking forward to his day in court."

Highly unlikely this was an order from Bulger. Not that he wouldn't do it; he has no one left in Southie. This was likely due to Stippo's connections with and knowledge of others' dirty laundry and them getting nervous about his closeness to prosecutors and this trial.

However, keep in mind that Stippo's body lacked any signs of trauma. One thing the Winter Hill gang, like all organized crime, was known for is making a mess and sending a message.
 
Looks like Whitey is charged guilty for some, but not all, of the murder charges.

Same for racketeering charges.
