The current record of 2-4 is the real proof that Manning's use of the 4 guard approach is not working.
Further proof is seen in a simple look at an astounding stat.
My old high school coach said time after time that a layup was a higher percentage shot than a shot from 20 feet from the basket.
This fact is evident by looking at the field goal attempts and field goals made by Moore and Crawford. Both have made 26 field goals. The major difference is that Moore has attempted only 31 shots while Crawford has attempted 71. Yes, Crawford has missed 40 more shots than Moore while making the same number.
You would think that the first Chapter of Coaching 101 would tell you to change your approach and let Moore attempt more shots, especially since he is shooting 84% vs. Crawford's 37%. Instead, Manning continues to use Moore in setting high ball screens near mid-court(further exposing him to fouling) instead of trying to establish a low post presence. In the current offensive sets the only time Moore gets the ball is on lobs. Of course, Moore is not and probably will never develop the offensive moves that John Collins had, but if he continues to dunk about 75% of his attempts it may not matter.
So far Manning refuses to change and uses the small ball approach which has proven statistically wrong.
