There's actually an interesting discussion on Imgur surrounding the memes of his death. Half the crowd is saying it's insensitive and too soon, the other that true comedians would appreciate humor, even in death. I think I fall into the latter.

Would the latter crowd exist if the former didn't? Part of the appeal is the insensitivity.

After getting back, the assistant found Perry unresponsive in the jacuzzi and dialed 911. As we said, first responders arriving at the scene, claim no drugs were found in the area.
