Me Too [Cuomo joins hall of shame]

And let's tackle the horrible process that discourages people from coming forward and protects Congressmen.

All democrats will resign, and all Pubs will say meh. This will work out great for the left.

more virtue signaling by the dems, they have their work cut out for them, many thought that like Bill by paying lip service to feminist dreams, they could get a pass of porcine behavior because - well - their politics were in line

the pubs - deeply divided - quite frankly don't seem to know what to do except point out previous dem hypocrisy and hope that things will die down, while fewer of their crowd will be implicated (probably not gonna work)

in the meantime, most people would probably like some sensible guidelines to emerge but I doubt that any consensus will be achieved soon

This is wrong, as I mentioned before. The allegations against Bill came out mostly in his second term, not before the election. The so called ‘party of family values’ voted for Trump with 15 sexual harassment allegations, 2 claimed rapes, pussy grabbing tape, golden shower dossier, quotes about seeing teenage girls naked back stage of teen paegent, and civil right settlements, fraud lawsuits, multiple money laundering penalties.

The right is deep in their own bull shit of religious and moral hypocracy. The left is by far the more moral of the two today...this cannot be questioned.

Does it really matter? Parties are killing this country.

It had worked for over 200 years before the right lost their minds seemingly because we elected a black president.

Technically, the evangelical right lost their minds when we elected an actual evangelical Christian.

that they are ready to sacrifice that horse's ass Al Franken in order to appear less hypocritical than they were before

Yeah Townie, better to be full on hypocritical like the Pubs. "We're the party of family values!!1! So lets nominate and elect a guy with five kids from three different wives, a serial adulterer, and a probable sexual assailant to the Presidency!11!!!"

That doesn't seem like a virtue. This vocabulary the right has developed, along with "fake news" and terms like "SJW" just continues to erode the value of language in our political communication. Really destabilizes the way we can understand each other. I worry about our ability to reason critically when language is continually under attack like this. This is shaping how people perceive reality!

Yeah. None of these catch phrases mean anything other than "I disagree with you but since you keep using words I don't understand like ad hominem, I'm going to use these euphemisms that sound fancy to substantiate my viewpoint."

"Politically correct" is probably the worst offender.

be more tolerant, with this lefty bunch you have to take what virtues you can find (even if its not too much virtue)

so now you are worried about debasement of the language? haha, debasement of the language has been a central part of the left's enterprise over the course of the last 100 years, but then you wouldn't know anything about that - I'm guessing because you are a leftist and systematic ignorance of certain unseemly aspects of the history of left is essential for being a leftist

This is a great example of Townie's point.

Can you share more about this? I'm extremely sympathetic to deconstructionist theories of political rhetoric, and while I was focusing my argument on your misuse of a common contemporary phrase, something I've observed a lot in the discourse lately, I'd love to hear your perspective on the left's contributions to the erosion of language.

If anything I suspect the left is more guilty of policing language and making sure it's used the way they want it used (see: political correctness). Like I said though, I would love to hear more.

which of course could also be debasement or erosion

but on to the larger point, maybe reading George Orwell might give you a start

unfortunately, you would probably not be able to read too much of what all the leftist regimes of the USSR, eastern Europe, and China said during the 20th century about themselves and the West but some of it is certainly available in English and some of it is even on the net, so get busy, and please be sure to report back to us occasionally with progress reports

I promise that if you are diligent, persistent, and open-minded your eyes will be opened like never before on the subject of the left's debasement of language.
