I'm against it because downtown baseball is >>>>>>>> suburb baseball, as we've seen at a huge number of parks the last 20 years.
I'm also against it because it says some pretty horrible things about race relations and the general structure of the city of Atlanta and it's surrounding suburbs.
Yeah dont see that angle.
1. Braves have the cheapest tix in town (as go mentioned you can get in the door for $5 most days)
2. the current stadium is in the middle of a predominant African American area (and it is a waaay easier drive up to the Ted from the southside than coming in from the north)
3. We have 3 of the best young AA outfielders in the game
Still, ATL AA's just don't really attend the games. Its probably 85/15 white/black. There have been a million sports pieces on why AAs arent drawn to baseball these days. I cant answer that question, but the stadium isnt moving away from minorities, its moving closer to the people who pay to watch the bulk of the games. Its just about $$$.
