Non-Political Coronavirus Thread

Good grief - over the course of 9 days my dad has tested positive, then negative, and now positive. How does that even happen, and why is he taking so many tests?

Is he showing symptoms?

Did he lose a bunch a weight and then gain it back again in those 9 days? Maybe that’s why.

LOL. This is so good.

MDMH, I hate your family is going through this. As you likely know, the middle test was a false negative result. There are many reasons those occur, but sampling error is probably be the biggest. For nasopharyngeal swabs, most kits recommend 15 seconds of sampling, but because of discomfort some clinicians will only sample for 1-2 seconds.

More likely took a trip to Tonga

Doubt it. Tonga has very strict Covid restrictions in place, like 21 day quarantine for all off island travelers. Which is probably how they were able to help their obese population avoid serious death rates….you know by managing the risk before they got sick.

Omicron is waning. Time to lose the masks and get on with it.

California ending indoor mask mandate on 2/15. Counties may override.

Non-politically?
