Official 2024 NFL Thread. Draft is done. Which Teams will Find Winng "Lottery Tickets" in Undrafted Free Agents?

it's crazy...and they can't really keep him because he is too popular in the locker room. Would be brutal for Caleb Williams

This seems insane for his age coming off his injury

Falcons just fired a coach because Ridder sucked, so they probably didn't want to go the draft route with McCarthy or Penix. They were pretty desperate, and Cousins is perfect for that McVay offense, whereas Fields was not. And Cousins was having an awesome year before the injury. They were kinda in the opposite position the Colts were in last year when they drafted AR15 after years of unsuccessful retreads.

I don't see the Vikes going with a vet at QB, unless it's just a Minshew or Huntley to mentor the rookie they draft. And they might have to trade up to get their guy. The question now is what will JJ think about losing his QB, and does it make it less likely for Hunter to want to stay. Could be a hard reset button for them.

While we're talking $$, is Gabe Davis worth $13mil per? Gotta be the worst deal yet.

Interesting WSJ article today on this: https://www.wsj.com/sports/football...kings-93843ea0?mod=hp_lead_pos9&mod=wknd_pos1

Basically saying he's been able to make so much money because he was a decent, but not great QB. The great QB's get locked up and never hit free agency (or don't hit it until the tail end of their careers), vs. Cousins who has now hit FA twice, allowing him to take advantage of market conditions at the moment.

Cousins is currently the 11th highest earning QB in history, and if he finishes this deal with the Falcons, will move into 3rd place on the list, behind only Rodgers and Stafford.

Minshew to Vegas. Doesn't feel like the long term answer Pierce was talking about. Probably drafting a rookie too.

Also Cousins had the (mis?) fortune to be Franchise Tagged twice by the Washington Football Mess.

Jerruh's interpretation of the Dallas Cowboys going "all-in" for the upcoming season is a lot different from mine.

Darnold and Aaron Jones to the Vikings
Darnold $10mil for 1 year. Feels similar to what Vegas did. Both teams looking toward drafting a QB. Feels like you have to trade up to the 4-6 range for McCarthy, but you can get Penix and Nix in that 11-13 range, if not later.

Heard the Ravens offered King Henry $6.5mil for 1 year, but he's holding out for better.

dv7, what do you want Jerruh to do? He can't afford any FAs till Dak plays ball and signs an extension. And his 1st 2 priorities after that will be extending Lamb and Parsons. They'll have to bargain shop and draft OL, DL and LB replacements.

They were involved in a bargain for Zach Moss but decided 2 years/8mil was just too much and "out of their comfort zone"

I didn't mind letting Pollard go for 3/24. But Zach Moss at 4 mil per over 2 years is good value and the Cowboys still balked. It's a concern even if we are only through just day 1.

I understand it, but losing Aaron Jones really hurts as a Packer fan. Such a genuinely good guy and leader, and great player. One of my top 5 all time favorite Packers.
