Official Election Month Thread: COUP falls short, nothing to see here

Fighting the fake polls now. Seems besides the point if you are Trump-or pretty much anyone not connected to Nate Silver.

This just in from the world of pms. Rj takes posts very literally.

You aren’t a real member of The Tunnels until RJ send you a very sternly worded PM about something you posted about him. Consider it a rite of passage.

Although it is quite comforting to know RJ is following along with the big kids’ thread

Did anyone listen to that Trump press conference? It was beyond unhinged.

TRUMP ALLEGES FRAUD, ATTEMPTS TO “RIG” ELECTION

I don’t think Fox News meant to be that honest

Georgia just posted a big bunch of votes. 17,019. They went 67.01% to Biden. It netted him 5,791 votes on Trump's advantage. The advantage now is 3,635 for Trump. Of the 33,500 votes I've tracked today, the net gain for Biden has been 11,130.

This press conference was the lowest point in US politics in my lifetime.

Fox News can’t even pull any defense of that. Basically saying Trump is full of shit.

I’d be heavily conflicted as a news organization to give him that platform.

MSNBC pulled away from it as soon as he started lying. I flipped over to Fox News at the end and they aren't defending it. Saying there is no evidence of fraud and not sure what grounds Trump would have to sue on.

Many people have a hard time processing long, detailed, nuanced policy positions. Unless the 25 page policy position paper can have its main theme expounded in an 8 second sound bite, Many people won't pick it up. Or they will write it off as "ivory tower" stuff. If the Democrats don't write their own sound bites, the republicans will do it for them. And not in a good way.
Well said.

100% correct. Republicans are great at the sport of politics. They are all about symbols and messages that work, even though there is very little policy behind it. Democrats allow republicans to label everything as socialist or let a small section of the left wing lead with defund the police messages.

Even if some of those are your actual policy goals you have to be astute enough to realize it’s terrible messaging. Democrats do have policy positions that poll very well in broad terms, but they suck at messaging, allow Fox News and the talk radio echo chamber to overwhelm and scare people and spend too much time infighting about purity and winning twitter popularity contests.

Look at what Pete Buttigedge was able to do with all of those Fox appearances. That type of messaging is needed.

Pete is one of the few Dems who can straight talk to the Fox News crowd to try to undo the brainwashing.

All of a sudden Republicans are shocked and dismayed by Trump’s lies.

Not much for conspiracy theories in general, but this one actually makes sense. I've been surprised at how subdued most of Fox has been this week (except for Carlson and Hannity of course), one gets the sense that Trump has served his purpose for the Murdochs and they feel no need to go out on a ledge for him, especially if he's likely to lose and then start up a rival right-wing network. They do seem to be pretty adamant about sticking to their original projection of AZ to Biden.
