I feel like only magic and rox fans see McGrady as a top dog of the 2000s

I guess that's due to the lack of playoff success

I guess. He did make All-NBA from 2001-08.

Yes, thats my point

He has the stats and credentials to justify being considered one of the best players for almost a full decade.

penny is a better comparison for rose than mcgrady anyway

Defs because of playoffs.

I'm trying to remember... how many playoff series did the Rockets have with healthy T-Mac and healthy Yao? I think 2, and they got bounced in the first round each time. Only time they made it past that was when McGrady got injured and Yao carried the team past the Blazers. Then they hit the Lakers buzzsaw, IIRC.

$38,500 for T-Mac's pimped ride that set him back $180k

What's crazy? The odds of an upset decrease with a larger spread?

How perfect the point spreads are correlated to win %, I.E. how much Vegas has it right.

Gotcha. Yes, they're very good, especially since the trendline starts right at 50%.

Are there similar numbers for cover percentage by spread?

That's it, you'd just have a straight line going the other way.

No. The chart is win, not cover.

If Vegas is as good as we think, such a chart would be right at 50% across.

I was always told or assumed there's a bias inherent on the favorites in most betting, so blindly taking a dog probably is better than blindly taking a favorite.
