If this Russian story gains speed (I suspect it will) and his approval numbers begin to plummet, we will start hearing calls for impeachment.

This article written back in the Spring is highly prescient. Just substitute Russian kompromat for the domestic stuff and Pence for Sessions.

Unless dems have a huge midterm, there is no chance that Trump gets impeached. None. The pubs on the Hill stand way too much to lose.

It would take something incredibly egregious for them to impeach him. I have faith that Trump is up to that challenge.

It would have to be something acceptable to his supporters - the 5th Avenue Murder crowd. It would need to be something so egregious, that even they would be like "Now looka here, Cletus, he just done gone and went too far, by golly".

And with each new revelation, his supporters become less interested. It's information overload at this point. None of this keeps them from being able to check the relevant boxes:

[x] My team won
[x] left-libtards lost
[x] left-libtards are upset
[x] we still get to shoot guns to celebrate CHRISTmas

Nothing else matters.

WASHINGTON — A Texas lawmaker on the House intelligence committee says it wasn't just the Russians who interfered in last year's election.

Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Midland, is comparing the use of Mexican entertainers to energize Democratic voters to the email hacking that officials say was orchestrated by Vladimir Putin's government.

“Harry Reid and the Democrats brought in Mexican soap opera stars, singers and entertainers who had immense influence in those communities into Las Vegas, to entertain, get out the vote and so forth,” Conaway told The Dallas Morning News this week. “Those are foreign actors, foreign people, influencing the vote in Nevada. You don’t hear the Democrats screaming and saying one word about that.”

Asked whether he considers that on par with Russian cyber-intrusions that aimed to damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Conaway said: “Sure it is, it’s foreign influence. If we’re worried about foreign influence, let’s have the whole story.”
