But damn, Americans are some lazy, gullible marks. No one seems to give a shit (or have the time) to pick through internet BS for the real story. I guess we used to have a reliable press that distilled the news down to factual reports that we could consume at night and make decisions. Now there is so much noise out there, the press is run by dubious actors like Murdoch, and the seeds of distrust are so wildly sewn that shitfucks like Trump and Ryan and McConnell's base believe insane nonsense and vote for Republicans who in turn fuck up America.

I know the left is quick to cry Fascist while the right cries socialism, but is there a parallel for the left when it comes to people like Rush and Alex Jones? I'm sure someone will joke"CNN," but seriously. What leads a person to look for news from two knuckleheads like Rush and Jones?

Crazy but I am not surprised. Would be helpful to know what role they played in Charlottesville also.

Their entire objective is to divide the nation and see us splinter. I remember being called a crank in the early pages of this thread for posting a few articles about how Russia was organizing secession movements in both CA and TX. There is a lot of shady shit going on and the sooner our leaders and the public acknowledge it (really just POTUS and his cult of rubes at this point) the sooner we can actually do something to combat the problem.

It's not an ace in the hole, but whatever it is, maybe a Jack, it's a card the Dems need to play very carefully and at the right time. Unfortunately, Trump still has way too much support in the house to be impeached. But there could be larger things at stake. If the Dems flub this, it will provide Bannon with more ammunition on the ground, and when some of the Republicans finally turn, it will be too late. The NRA and Bannon will have already established a ground game that will unseat the Republican turncoats, and we'll be in worse shape than we are now exiting 2018.
 
It's more important that Democrats mobilize to limit foreign influence in elections than simply getting Trump impeached.

Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, informed the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday that he will not be cooperating with any requests to appear before the panel for its investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and would plead the Fifth, according to a source familiar with the matter.
