Official Russian Election Interference Thread

Who is we? Not conservatives they love Russia now. See conservative polls on Russia. See leader of the Republican Party.

We've been geopolitical foes for your entire lifetime. If it took impacting Democrats for you to get outraged, welcome. We've been expecting you.

It was an esoteric and intangible threat for my childhood and really a non threat for much of the 90s and early 2000s. The threat has completely changed from what it was in the 60s and 70s and this is why we’ve noticed it. Never before has a foreign power tried to infiltrate our electoral processes on this scale. That is something we should be very concerned about.

Some, sure. But the daily meltdown is porn to the people who are sick of the media/establishment.

If you (and I don't mean you personally, please understand) can take a step back and look at his voters, most of them don't value the institutions he pits himself against. Establishment rage----especially from the left---strengthens him.
If you don't understand that, you don't understand his voters.

Oh I get it and fully understand it. I deal with it in my own family conversations on a weekly basis.

But elections are won on the margins and Trump barely won in 2016. Hell he lost the popular vote by 3 Million.

Democrats don't need to convince many independents or moderate Rs for them to win back Congress and the White House - with or without establishment rage.

And that's especially true for those independent voters who don't like watching 25-30% of Americans act like cultist rubes... rubes who are hell bent on supporting politicans who rather break shit and suck at the Trump teet than do anything remotely productive for the country.

Yep, they've been brainwashed from years of Limbaugh et al to blame "government", especially the federal one, for all their woes. So much for the alleged personal responsibility bullshit. Congrats dumbasses. Wait till you see how fucked you are with the intentional destruction and degradation of your hated institutions.

If Trump had run against generic democrat #4, he loses. But running against a polarizing figure that carried needless integrity baggage was a gift he could never have dreamed of.

No doubt. But we're re-litigating the 2016 election based on what we know today.

Trump has lost supporters. Not as much as Dems would like but probably enough for Trump to lose the election if it was held again today.

I honestly believe that even if the Dems ran a saint, Trump would drag them through the mud and just make things up. You know, like McConnell has been doing for almost a decade.

They would tell you those institutions have already done their worst. The factory is closed, the border is open and neither party listens to them.

So they burned it down.

Well, I think they'll see how wrong they are. But it's not as much their fault as it is of the pernicious liars that have led them to such conclusions.

It's hilarious, almost. Black poverty? Just get your shit together folks and get an education and don't have kids outside of marriage. Expect no policy to help you. White poverty (loss of jobs to cheaper labor elsewhere, etc.)? BLAME the government! Tear it down! There's no hope for you to find a way in the world apart from xenophobia and destructively protectionist international politics somehow combined with unfettered capitalism domestically.

This is a solid point. When you have no sense of morality or integrity, you can just make shit up.

"How can you trust this Jesus Christ when he hangs around with a prostitute and a tax collector? Did you see the video of him washing the feet of his so-called disciples who are actually his corrupt deep state cronies? With Barabbas, we know he has a past but he tells it like it is."

"The Justice Department has strict rules limiting the White House's involvement in criminal law enforcement matters. Any involvement by the White House counsel in the decision is unusual, particularly because it relates to the President's political opponents.

One source said that the President has expressed "consistent frustration" about reports that the Justice Department and the FBI have been "dragging their heels" in response to pending requests for release of information on this and other matters. That source said the President made the decision in a desire to be "transparent" and said it's not about attacking the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton."

Post of the year

Pod Save America did a podcast with Tim Miller (conservative Republican, worked for Jeb's campaign) today and he had a really good bit regarding how ridiculous the sudden calls of impropriety are against Dems and HRC because they funded this opposition research. The gist was, "If I had funded that research and got that dossier, sure as shit I would have released information about it well before Oct 2016." Worth a listen for anyone that is still sane.
