Official Russian Election Interference Thread

Thanks for posting. How can any Americans approve of this?

Think about this for a minute, Mueller has a Hall of Fame squad of specialist attorneys. If he got all this info and narrative that tracks back to the secretive Russian oligarchs, think of what he's likely to have on the hacking of the DNC; money laundering in NYC and FL among other places; negotiating to end sanctions; why Trump won't say anything about Putin and won't impose the sanctions Congress passed with 99% of them voting the penalties and more.

This is nowhere near the biggest of the investigation.

Remember, it was Mueller's team in NYC that got Sammy the Bull to turn Gotti. These guys are pikers in comparison to that.

And attorneys who were responsible for prosecuting Enron, Al Qaeda, Watergate and many others. Hell he has an attorney on his team that's argued over 100 cases in front of the Supreme Court. Less than 10 people in the country can claim that.

One of John McCain's former advisors.

Curious if there are any lurkers out there who once believed Russian interference in the 2016 election was a hoax (ignore whether Trump's campaign "colluded" in this effort or not) but now believe the concerns are legitimate. Or do you still think Russian interference is a hoax?

Honest question for anyone who reads the boards. No judgment zone either (at least from me...maybe a few follow up questions though).

I think most rational people don't consider creating twitter trolls as being effective interference into our election. The liberal response on these boards from people I assumed were otherwise rational actors is rather concerning to me.

You all have been in lockstep on this issue.

Apparently according to NewEnglandDeac we should instead be outraged about the things people post on the facebook gold for crazies thread, as somehow this internet trolling got Trump elected. Such a terrible (and even sad) take, but I suppose once you've been obsessed with it for over a year you gotta go with it, no matter how ridiculous it is.

OK, it happened. No big deal! Believe me.

I scroll down 3 posts and see moonz makes the same point. Given that we agree on nothing else but this, that should say something.

Are you honestly making the appeal that you and moonz are the voices of reason? BWAAAHAAAHAAAAA!!!!

On this thread we learn that moonz and Palma don't get that worried about internet trolls. Perhaps that is because.....they themselves are pathetic little trolls. I'm pretty sure I psychoanalyzed that correctly.

So you clearly haven't read the indictment if you think this is all about a few trolls like yourself posting a few memes on Facebook.

And I've told you this before, if your takeaway is "eh no big deal"...you have no idea how basic marketing and advertising works. You also have very little understanding of the significance of a 80,000 vote margin in Trump's favor across 3 states that haven't gone Republican in years.

Plus when a foreign country attacks the United States...it fucking pisses me off. I don't know when you, Moonz, sailor and the rest of the GOP adopted appeasement as a foreign policy strategy. I'm old enough to remember when the GOP railed against Obama for appeasing other countries and not putting the US first.

So a couple of million bucks spent on Facebook..okay

Bruce Ohr declined to admit that his wife Nellie (CIA) was on the payroll at Fusion GPS. Will face jail time.

Obama’s legacy will make Nixon look like a nickel and dime holdup

Obama is the least transparent and most narcissistic leader the US has ever suffered

Samantha Power - going down
Susan Rice - going down
Sid Blumenthal - going down
Cheryl Mills - going down

Corrupt to the core

I'm just not a hypocrite

The U.S. is no stranger to interfering in the elections of other countries

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-us-intervention-foreign-elections-20161213-story.html

The U.S. has a long history of attempting to influence presidential elections in other countries – it's done so as many as 81 times between 1946 and 2000, according to a database amassed by political scientist Dov Levin of Carnegie Mellon University.

That number doesn't include military coups and regime change efforts following the election of candidates the U.S. didn't like, notably those in Iran, Guatemala and Chile. Nor does it include general assistance with the electoral process, such as election monitoring.
