Official Trump: Dems favorability down to 31%! All time low! Sad!

There was no third party on the past few elections, pub % staying constant is a huge shift. You're outclassed in logic and argument. Just stop

pub % staying constant is a huge shift.

Those goalposts move fast. Somebody give Mitt Romney a participation trophy for convincing the same % to vote for him as King Trump.

The goalposts have been consistent. you just keep coming back with some sort of terrible argument a 5th grader can disprove. Just stop

If in one election a 3rd party took 8% and another a 3rd party took 2%, then if one sides piece of the pie stays the same its more impressive. Would pie charts help your feeble understanding? Just stop

Here are the percentage differences from two swing states:

North Carolina

Romney '12: 2,270,395 (50.39%)
Obama '12: 2,178,391 (48.35%)
Trump '16: 2,339,073 (50.5) (+0.11%)
Hillary '16: 2,162,074 (46.7) (-1.65%)

Florida
Romney '12: 4,163,447 (49.1%)
Obama '12: 4,237,756 (50%)
Trump '16: 4,607,146 (49.1%) (same)
Hillary '16: 4,487,657 (47.8%) (-2.2%)

Trump didn't get a larger percentage of the vote. Hillary got a smaller percentage of the vote. The percentages dont show a "trump movement", they show Obama voters not voting for Hillary.

Did you even look at the absolute numbers? Because those don't prove your point at all. In NC, Hillary's vote was -0.6% compared to Obama's vote, Trump's was +3.0% compared to Romney. In Florida, Hillary's vote was +5.9% compared to Obama's, Trump's was +10.7%. In other words, Trump won them because he got out more vote than Romney, not because Hillary got out less vote than Obama.

Literally could have picked any other swing state. Trump's popular vote was lower than Obama's in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. But not in Florida.

Good job, good effort.

The percentages are what's relevant, not the voting totals. A candidate only receives credit for the % of voters they carry. 49% of 5 million means the same as 49% of 10 million. If Trump was more convincing than previous Republican candidates he would have received a larger percentage of the popular vote.

Palin for Interior Secretary. Prepare for the Redwoods to be cut and oil rigs in Yellowstone. Public lands will be auctioned off to reduce debt by .02%.

I can't stand that woman, but is there any evidence that she did anything like that while governor of Alaska?

Assuming she is going to get a spot, Interior is a hell of a lot better than DOE (which she wants to abolish) ot education I guess.

No, percents only matter as a summary of the absolutes (percentage points don't vote, voters vote). How can you conclude that Hillary's issue was that Obama voters didn't show up for her when she got virtually the same number of votes in one of your example states and significantly more in the other?

The only logical conclusion (in Florida) is that Trump held Romney voters; Hillary held Obama voters, and Trump won among new voters (with significant portion going to Johnson / Stein).

Again, you'd have a point in the midwest states.

Did she have to? Not hard to find oil in Alaska.

Trump already walking back on multiple campaign promises. The base is going to be pissed.

The base is on cloud nine and still in the middle of its victory lap. Doesn't matter what he does absent electing a pro-life judge, the base will be happy. He'll just blame anything he walks back on onto someone else. Do y'all not realize yet he can pretty much talk himself out of anything at this point?
