Official Trump: Dems favorability down to 31%! All time low! Sad!

Even Obamacare is a question mark - Paul Ryan was on TV saying that they were getting rid of Obamacare and also Medicare while Trump was saying that he wants to keep parts of Obamacare.

I'm guessing there will be common ground in relaxing regulations, though. Gotta free up Wall Street to create jobs or whatever.

Priebus said their four initial priorities would be foreign policy, immigration, Obamacare, and tax reform.

But let's say you just tank Social Security altogether. Pensions are a thing of the past, so put financial planning 100% back in the hands of the people. Eliminate the payroll tax and let people survive or perish on their own acumen. Personal responsibility. What happens when the American idiocracy gets old and can't afford healthcare then? What a ridiculous burden that'll be on our economy. Families aren't just gonna let their parents and grandparents die in the streets.

Advantage: single-parent households. Pitch this as a form of affirmative action and liberals will eat it up.

Both Trump and Ryan want to cut taxes, but can't agree on offsetting spending cuts to avoid ballooning the deficit. Trump wants to keep parts of Obamacare, social security, and Medicare. Ryan, not so much (to put it lightly). The Bannon/Trump fatwa on Ryan was mostly personal before, but will ultimately be ideological. Tea Party took down Boehner with only 40 members. Bannon has at least that many now and there are far more who are terrified of being primaried from the right. Ryan's hosed.

Awesome. Fuck him and mcconnell.

Can we talk about what a disaster Giuliani would be as Sec State? He doesn't have a diplomatic bone in his body. Let alone the fact that he may actually be going senile.

As much as a chameleon that Kerry is, at least he is well respected by foreign governments.

Rudy claims he turned down Attorney General and is now all in for SOS. John Bolton, a fierce Neo-Con hawk, is allegedly also in the mix. Bolton was filibustered in the Senate for UN Ambassador and W had to make a recess appointment. Trump "pals" W, Jeb, Cheney, and Bill Kristol would be stoked with Bolton. Newt and Bob Corker are also possibilities. Corker is the most (only?) reasonable pick.

Attorney General has some other rough possibilities: Jeff Sessions (also potential Defense Secretary), Christie, or Pam Bondi. Christie and Bondi have ethical problems swirling around them which don't exactly reinforce an anti-corruption drain the swamp narrative, so Sessions may be the default pick.

Best names associated with the Trump cabinet so far are Ayotte (Health and Human Services or Defense), Jindal (HHS), and Corker. Jindal was a disaster as a presidential candidate and Governor, but he's a sharp policy wonk.

Holy shit, 2&2 is only 7 years older than me? Jesus. I thought that dude was in his 50s.

Ayotte as AG would be more like it if Rudy isn't interested. As SecDef? That's LOL bad. Rudy as SOS is also pretty bad. Newt would seem to be the guy for that, unless he's interested in something else like Education Dept.

Don't often agree with you, but Ayotte as AG would be fine. Rudy or Bolton as SOS is positively frightening. I mean that's worse than Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary.

Obama should set a record for recess appointments...including Garland.

Ayotte is solid, but agree not at Defense. HHS or AG wouid work. Rather see Ayotte or Jindal at HHS than Carson. Don't agree with them politically much, but trust Ayotte, Corker, and Jindal much more than Carson, Rudy, Newt, Bannon, and Palin. Not a fan of Reince, Sessions, or Christie, but they're better than the latter group. Wouid like to see McCrystal in the mix for Defense or NSA. At least one will slime in, but conceivable that Christie, Rudy, and Newt all get shut out after eating tons of shit on Trump's behalf.

As expected, Trump's all over the map: called marriage equality settled law, but wants to overturn Roe vs Wade. Wild that Trump shit all over Bob Gates and Colin Powell, but is considering Bolton or Mike Flynn for his cabinet.

Everyone see the Trump Trade 200 day plan, he really thinks he can strong arm other countries to try and bring back the 1950s. It does however leave him an out since he will have people research the consequences first. Their conclusion clearly will be more negative than positive, then he will just have to listen.

How are those conflicting positions? Sounds like I should have voted for him.

Not conflicting, but a passive aggreseive fuck you to Pence, social conservatives, and evagelicals who want to keep actively marginalizing LGBTs. Trump won't push for additional LGBT protections, but he's not not going to use political capital to roll them back either.

As dubious as the marriage equality decision was, I can't see a situation where 5 justices decide to just yank a benefit away, even if it wouldn't apply retroactively. Gay marriage is here forever. And while I think the chances of overturning Roe even with a conservative court are slim to none, there is a difference between deciding on an already recognized and codified form of marriage and deciding on access to a medical procedure.

SCOTUS will still have to jump through hoops to decide the issue of polygamy, which will be fun to watch.

Thank Christ.

Agreed. Worst parts of the GOP over the last few decades have been social conservatives and neo-cons. Props to Trump if he truly does clown Pence, Cruz, social conservatives, and evangelicals on LGBT issues.

Bolton allegedly in the SOS mix after Trump (correctiy) campaigned against neo-cons is bizarre. Hopefully a head fake and he gets somebody better than Bolton, Rudy, or Newt.
