Official Trump Swamp Thread: Still Corrupt as Fuck

Not that expensive

You realize that taking Air Force One isn't like flying coach, right? Not only is the plane itself expensive to fly, but local air traffic has to be completely disrupted every time AF1 comes in and leaves. That comes at a cost to those other flights and the staff at the airport as well.

If palma can get you this easily, do yourself a favor, never play poker with him.

Politico with a very iimportant investigative piece on the lack of transparency in Trump's administration.

Where is Trump’s Cabinet? It's anybody’s guess.

Agency heads are carrying out the Trump administration's agenda largely in secret, in many cases shielding their schedules from public view.

The Cabinet members carrying out President Donald Trump’s orders to shake up the federal government are doing so under an unusual layer of secrecy — often shielding their schedules from public view, keeping their travels under wraps and refusing to identify the people and groups they’re meeting.

A POLITICO review of the practices of 17 Cabinet heads found that at least seven routinely decline to release information on their planned schedules or travels — information that was more widely available during the Obama and George W. Bush administrations. Four other departments — Agriculture, Labor, Homeland Security and Education — provide the secretaries’ schedules only sporadically or with few details. The Treasury Department began releasing weekly schedules for Secretary Steven Mnuchin only in November.

In addition, at least seven Cabinet departments don’t release appointment calendars that would show, after the fact, who their leaders had met with, what they discussed and where they traveled — a potential violation of the Freedom of Information Act, which says agencies must make their records “promptly available to any person.” At least two departments — Education and the Environmental Protection Agency — have released some of those details after activist groups sued them.

The sooner we realize this is the government Republicans want, the sooner we realize one party is most of the problem. Republicans want a government that huddles together with ALEC and big business in secret. Transparency, much like debt, is something they use to hammer Democrats.

They also used to hammer government workers for overall waste and spending excessively. Yet Pruitt is traveling around the US first class. I would love to see that travel log. A first class trip internationally or even from coast to coast is one thing but like his private jet-traveling buddy Tom Price...I wouldn't be surprised to see 1st class flights from DC to New York City. That's a waste and completely unnecessary.

And they’ll hammer it again when a Democrat is in the White House and when we call out the hypocrisy, they’ll claim “whataboutism” without a hint of irony.

The GOP only cares about power. They have no clear morals.

#transparency

Then again the assumption that every change the Trump administration makes must be bad and is worthy of a news article slamming it is kinda lame and tiresome. We got 3 more years, relax and pick out the good ones, media.

Did you read the article?

The article has plenty of quotes from people within the nursing home industry explaining why they like the legislation. They lay out the arguments and let the readers decide.

In any other administration, this would be a bombshell and likely lead to a serious investigation that could potentially end the presidency. But since rubes don't care about the constitution or the rule of law anymore...this probably won't turn into much. But it should.

FIFY

Anybody come up with the term Rubepublicans?

And since Republicans only care about enforcing the law against Democrats, enforcing the law at all will be seen as partisan.
