And it’s going to get so much worse. Most of these jobs aren’t coming back. But relief efforts will stop. Income inequality is not a stated policy position the Democratic Party aims to address.

The arguments the GOP is making against more stimulus payments and extending unemployment benefits and all the rest are literally the same arguments they made during the Great Depression under Hoover. It'll make people lazy, it will destroy America's famed Protestant work ethic, if the rich are taxed too much they won't go out create jobs to end the Depression, yada yada. Those arguments didn't work then and were overwhelmingly rejected in the 1932, 1934, and 1936 elections. I guess we'll see if the GOP can do a better job of selling them the second time around.

Well conservatives have a near decade more experience arguing for their bullshit policies and they own a party who buys it.

The Senator who fought to enact the Crime Bill and helped make student loans ineligible for bankruptcy did a little more than "inherit" bad faith in government. He sowed the wind and I hope he fucking reaps the whirlwind up his wrinkly old ass.

Yes, it's really obnoxious of me to judge Biden based on his long legislative history, rather than his folksy blue collar attitude. Unlike you, Ph, I'm not so partisan that I can't intensely despise members of both parties.

If I ran the Dem debates, I'd work with the candidates to develop the questions and give all candidates the final list of questions days before the debate. I wouldn't care if they leaked either. The goal of the debate should be to give every candidate a chance to shine so voters can make an informed decision.

The fact that people truly believe that arguably the most qualified presidential candidate in history needed to cheat for the softball questions asked in that debate tells me that a lot of people in this country don't even understand the most basic elements of these issues.

Anyone on these boards could have performed well to quite well given the banality of those questions, let alone a lifelong politician like Hillary Clinton.
