Yep. If the demographics of NC and GA continue to move in the direction they're going, maybe both of those states can start doing things like this within the next 10 to 20 years. VA has been ahead of them by about a decade or two in demographic change (urbanization, declining rural power, growing numbers of non-native residents, etc.)
I think NC was ahead of VA for awhile, but took a major step back once the Republicans took over the General Assembly.
