Was it Texas recently that allowed people who were involuntarily commited to get a gun immediately on their release?
 
Close to home, a lady lost custody of her 9-year-old daughter so she fatally shot the social worker who was on the case. She was laughing and making small talk with police officers about it at the scene with blood all over her clothes. Later they discovered the woman's mother and two sisters murdered. The woman had been disqualified from purchasing a gun due to her criminal history (11 misdemeanor convictions) and it is unknown how or when she acquired the .270 caliber rifle, but receipts show she purchased ammunition from Walmart.
