The Supreme Court has held that the right to an abortion is protected up to the point of fetal viability and, after the point of viability, restrictions can be placed on abortion only so long as the life/health of the woman are not compromised. So somebody please explain to me again why a Vice-Presidential candidate's view on rape/incest abortions matters? It's not like he could ever cast the tie-breaking vote on any abortion bill of real consequence on this point. Even if he would vote to limit abortion after viability in cases of rape/incest, the woman would, under the constitution, have 25 weeks (or so) to decide whether to have an abortion and, if her life/health were at risk, she could have one after viability regardless of the method of conception.
