Pro Hoops Deacs - Jake LaRavia with 89 points in last three games of the season

Cam did fine in conference play last year against bigs. Got to the line at a higher rate and only had a very slight drop off compared to the season as a whole (which is to be expected since 1/3 of your games are against OOC teams, many of whom are worse than ACC teams). He shot a better percentage in Q1 games from inside the three point line than he did for the season.

Congrats to Ish. What an amazing career for a guy who "wasn't an ACC. player."

How is it possible that we are discussing Cam as an NBA prospect and summarily concluding that Reid is not an NBA prospect? This is not realistic.
Yeah Reid will always be a “prospect.”
Sallis, Monsanto should make a roster (obviously Sallis is a late lottery). Carr also has a chance to make a roster.

Anyone claiming that Reid is an NBA prospect must never watch the NBA.

A 7-footer (and former 5*) always has NBA potential.
This hasn’t been true for 5-10 years. It’s really only the unicorn athletic 7ft’ers that have a shot, otherwise the lack of coordination and quickness that comes from that height is a major hindrance.

Efton is great for college, but it was quite obvious from his attempt at a 1on1 runout against VT that he doesn’t have NBA athleticism or ball handling skill.

Without doing a full census, it seems like every starting 7-footer is highly skilled (vets like Jokic, Embiid, or Vucevic or young players like Sengun, Wemby, and Chet), great rim protectors/all-around defenders (vets like Gobert, AD, Capela or younger players like Kessler, Gafford, JJJ), or man-beasts (like Valanciunas, Bitadke, or Nurkic). Most of those guys are a combination of the three. Most rotation backups are in the same vein but not quite as good.

There was talk that the C position would become obsolete and small ball would take over. But the centers are just so good that teams either have to play the one they have or play a big to defend the other team's talented big.

PF is obsolete. Guys who were PFs 5+ years ago transformed into big wings (like Aaron Gordon or Lauri Markennen) or centers (AD, Al Horford, Bam Adebayo).

Both Reid and Carr would have to make the NBA as a center. As far as Wake players go, I was surprised Dallas Walton didn't get on a Summer League roster because he was a pretty good rim protector and could shoot from three.

Dallas Walton was a plodder. No room in the NBA for plodders.

It's all about spacing and tempo in the NBA these days. If you can't run and move, non-stop, the NBA doesn't have a place for you. There is a reason that Zach Edey, the best NCAA player the last two years has essentially no NBA future (he may make a roster, but he will be, at best, an end of the bench NBA guy). There is a reason Armando Bacot is back at UNC for his 11th season. Post up bigs that can't run and move perpetually can't play in the NBA.

I was going to post something in almost exactly the same vein. Reid can be a good-to-great college player. But he has not demonstrated the athleticism (side-to-side mobility and general fluidity of movement) to be a pro.

He was playing in Poland but a quick look at his IG and Twitter seems like he's not playing anywhere. I vaguely remember he had committed to some internship before the season was up.

Walton played in the TBT this past Summer for Team Colorado.

Quinten Post is a marginal 2nd round prospect (I haven’t seen him on any 2-round mocks) and he’s way better than Reid or Carr.

Alondes Williams scored 55 points in a game league today!

Was just coming to post this, crazy lol. Hope he gets another shot in the league.

Impressive.

LaRavia had 32 last game for the Memphis Hustle. He's played in 4 of their 5 games. He hasn't played for the Grizzlies since Dec 18.
