Very conventional plot but the David Fincher-ness and Trent Reznor-ness of it made it interesting. Worth a watch if you like his stuff

Forks is one of my favorite TV episodes ever. Really dig the Richie arc.

I have a new favorite series of 2023 that I started and completed over the holiday - "Julia". Just a delight, the cast is fantastic, the attention to detail is phenomenal, like when they go to Savenor's Market, it's clearly Savenor's Market, just made to look like 1962. I started it with no expectations, I like Julia Child and I like the main actors but none of that added up to "need to see it". Glad I finally did though.

I'm a couple episodes into the new season of Fargo and I'm generally enjoying it, but I'm getting bored of otherwise good tv/movies with such uncomplicatedly evil antagonists

absolutely zero tension in the scenes with Joe Keery -- his character is cartoonish to the point of distraction

other villains -- Jon Hamm, the bad haircut guy -- are interesting and a little more complex

it's politically agreeable to me, but artistically uninteresting

I really enjoyed it. It doesn't ever really stop being depressing but I still thought it was great.

I know there are some Slow Horses fans here, and while we’re only 2 episodes in my wife and I like the premise and pace. We’ve got enough slow dramas lined up to where we weren’t interested in a drawn out, elaborate spy show, but the humor and pacing have been strong enough to carry it early on.


ETA: Just finished season 2. It was good, but not as good as season 1 imo, which was nonstop suspense.

Need to start S2. I rewatched S1, this time with the wife. She didn't dislike it. I just enjoy him beating the shit out of bad guys. Nothing more, nothing less, and the show doesn't require much else.
