Recommend good stuff you've seen on Netflix streaming

Watched a few episodes of Garfunkle and Oates. Pretty funny and lots of cameos from other comedians.

Just wrapped up Bloodline and I loved it. Yes, there are a few holes. But as far as FL Keys vibe, they absolutely nailed it.

Wet Hot American Summer was just added. It's one of those movies that has gotten more attention over the years, in no small part due to the then-unknown cast turning into stars of varying degrees (Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd for example). I thought it had moments but wasn't consistently funny. It's being made into a Netflix series which I'm anticipating to be better than the movie.

Not sure it is on Netflix(I think it may be), but I watched Somm the other day. The preparation these guys go through is impressive, but I came away feeling strange. Since the 60s, something like 200 people have achieved this certification. That tells me that it must not be that important. I also felt that the whole thing was somewhat amateurish for something that should be so elite. One of the proctors actually tricked a candidate into thinking he didn't pass when they were going over his results. Amateur hour, IMO.

Townie and I watched that a couple months ago. The whole doc is sort of amateur hour, but the subject matter is interesting enough to make it entertaining.

The real reason so few people have passed is that it takes an inordinate amount of preparation, and the preparation is expensive. Not many people have access to so many wines. The only people that do are sommeliers who work in the industry and get a lot of help from their restaurant or other somms or something.

By the way, A Year in Burgundy is another good wine doc on Netflix.

The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip Of Bob Weir.

I don't really care for The Grateful Dead, but I am a big fan of music docs. This one was pretty good. Not great, but it held my attention for 80 minutes.

Just watched Bill Burr: I'm Sorry You Feel That Way. He and Louis CK are always good for a laugh to me. Funny stuff.

RESOLUTION

Wow. This is another indie gem--it's sort of horror, but not really. The internets compares it to Cabin in the Woods because it's pretty meta, but a lot more subtly so. I think it has a dash of Coherence in it as well (pretty sure it pre-dates Coherence, though). One of the better Netflix Movies I've seen in a good while.

I finally got around to Peaky Blinders. Great show. Really excited for the third series.

Just came here to post this documentary - I actually thought it was great. For many the Dead was all about Jerry and I thought the film did an incredible job shining a great light on how much Bobby's originality and energy had to do with their success over their 30 year run together.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is incredible.

Great movie. It has such a cult following that a sequel is currently in the works. In the mean time I enjoyed Dale's (Tyler Labine) goofy show on hulu deadbeat.

Finished Bojack Horseman last week. Great stuff.

Agreed, but a “R” version compared to a “PG-13” would be better. I am not lusting after the ladies or gory details, but the center point of the entire series is a graphic act and often it get’s mentioned in an "oh-hum” manner. Did not want to see the details of the coffee grounds up the pooper. :rulz:

It was not nearly as well done as the first season. I still enjoyed it nonetheless.
