I disagree with you
wat a shame. nice to have a book in the hand to read.
a Kindle doesn't interest me much.
have you tried one?

I liked how Borders had kiosks in the store where you could look stuff up yourself. B&N doesn't have this and you have to interact with someone or stand in line to find out where are book might be.
Yeah, Circuit City made the same complaint about the internet and then it came out how bad they treated employees and didn't give workers raises who eventually jumped to Best Buy.
I heard an NPR story yesterday that said this may be good for local bookstores.
buckets makes an interesting point (kinda). How come there was never a Barnes and Nobles or Borders for porn? Seems like the local neighborhood porn store remains the model.
depends on your B&N. the one closest to me does have kiosks.
I have been to probably 15-20 different B&N and none of them have had kiosks, that I was able to find at least. Sucks that I don't have one around here that has them. It drives me nuts, not being able to just use a computer for something so easy.
well, the newest B&N in charlotte has them. and lots of them, actually. they were superior to the borders ones as well. the search feature just seemed to work better, and it showed you a little map so you knew exactly where to go (can't remember if borders did this, but i don't remember it if it did)
agree that the borders kiosks were generally terrible
I never had a problem with them and they were much better than nothing.
