Sam Hartman

I think a few high dollar amount donors are really powering NIL nationwide. I don't think your average message board fans like us are really making much of a dent anywhere.

I am increasingly hearing that about that same predicament on the CFB Reddit - apparently there are only about 15 schools in the country who are getting a lot of donations from fans, and it’s the exact SEC and Big 10/12 schools you would suspect. The rest of the schools in those conferences are struggling because their NIL efforts are being inflated by big donors making 1-time donations. This whole NIL collective shit could fall down faster than we expect, when the incoming class of 24 doesn’t get the pay day they expect.

It’s ironic that public universities run the most capitalist sports enterprise in the US and billionaires run the most socialist.

Gentlemen’s collusion vs crabs in a bucket. Hard to view it as capitalism when both the boosters and schools are fighting tooth and nail to keep the players from being designated as employees.

Not classifying people as employees but still banking on their labor is pretty capitalist.

interesting that his profile pic is still his deacon captains uniform. Probably should change that

I am a big Hartman fan and don't begrudge him for playing this final year elsewhere.

I have to admit, seeing him in a ND uniform does make me queasier than I thought it would.
