We have a different definition of “best” and “worst.” Best would be him coming back, then him going to the NFL, followed by him quitting football, and then finally going to another school.

Now that we have higher ambitions, bowl games are not meaningless. Finishing with 9 wins means a better chance of finishing ranked and then starting next season ranked.
 
Meaningful for getting quality reps and good game experience this year in preparation for next year.

By the way, there was only one 9-4 team (Arkansas) in last year's Final AP Poll. A&M (8-4) ducked the Deacs and ended up #25 in the Final Coaches' Poll. So I'm not holding out much hope for sneaking into the final rankings or getting into next year's preseason rankings. That ship sailed. Gotta keep earning respect on the field.

God, fuck TAMU so hard. Their season has been an absolute delight to me.
 
this year is a bit thinner in the middle though. already two four-loss teams (texas and louisville) and that will go up.

i think we’d have a chance at 9-4, a lot would come down to our bowl opponent and what shakes out with other teams.

Agreed. I think we definitely have a shot. We are already #30 in the Coach’s poll at 7-4.

It’s been rumored for weeks. But your source is full of shit that he has actually signed.
 
If he's planning to play in the bowl game (which he has said multiple times he is) then he absolutely hasn't signed anything related to Florida. I expect him to receive a solid chunk of change and Florida is undoubtedly pursuing him hard, but I agree that he hasn't signed anything yet. No way any team/NIL group who has received a commitment in exchange for cash is letting that player play another down for someone else and risk an injury.
