#SheWomanManHatersClub

married ladies (or ladies who have been planning your wedding for forever)...help me with song selections, please! i'm struggling so much with some of our songs. i cannot for the life of me decide on our intro song, cake cutting song, anniversary song (not enough single people coming for us to want to do a bouquet toss, so instead we're doing the anniversary song thing where all of the married couples start dancing, and the band starts being like "if you've been married less than 5 years, leave the dance floor...etc. until there's one couple left), and last dance song.

i'm so lost on all of these. no clue how to pick them. HELP ME.

That's an amazing list of rock music.

Papa Was A Rolling Stone is great for the soul train intros.
There are a bunch of great anniversary songs ('The Way You Look', 'Wonderful Tonight' etc) on that list.
I've never heard of a cake cutting song but that could be a song you love that's hard to dance to ('Use Me').
Bon Jovi and Journey are cliche but safe bets for the final dance.

Good luck and congrats!

this is exactly the kind of advice i needed. thank you! i wasn't even thinking about it like that, but that's a great idea.

Most common cake cutting song that I have heard is James Taylor's "How Sweet it is"

I like Elvis or van Morrison for the anniversary song- you need something a little quieter that whoever can kind of chatter over as people shuffle off the floor and super old people are left out there. I'd say either I can't help falling in love with you or tupelo honey. Plus, they're slow songs, so people might feel less awkward about dancing to them. ?

Our intro song was the fight song, cake cutting was the somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderful world mix, last song was David Gray's Sail Away I think

Here are our songs:

Wedding Party Enters - Sirius by Alan Parsons Project
We Enter - Scotland the Brave by The Auld Town Band and Pipes
First Dance - Forever 2007 by Dropkick Murphys
Parents Dance - What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
Married Couples' Dance - Unforgettable - by Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole <--- this would be the equivalent to your anniversary dance
Cake Cutting - Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard
Last Dance - I Could Not Ask For More by Edwin McCain

I have no idea what song we entered too actually. I assume the band just picked something to play. (wedding party didn't get introduced...just our parents and then us)

First dance was Songbird (Eva Cassidy)

Father-Daughter - I Loved Her First (Heartland)

Mother-Son - In My Life (Beatles)

Anniversary Dance - Unforgettable (Coles)

Cake Cutting - ???

Last Dance - I believe it was Shout?

and can one of you that has been through this before please tell me if two months before the wedding is about as stressful as it gets? i haven't been stressed at all through this whole thing (wooohoooooooo wedding planners! never could have done this without one), but then suddenly last week i got SUPER stressed out when she sent me five entire pages worth of questions to answer. all of a sudden i'm super overwhelmed. can somebody just please promise me it's not going to be like this for the entire next two months?

woohoooooo, then you can at least see what they're going to send you (log into account)! i mean, it's not super helpful since they don't have pictures online, but i love that i can see that they're sending 3 shirts, a skirt, and a necklace, or whatever. it gets me more excited :)

oooooh really?!

*to the stitchfix site!*

We picked Cuts Like a Knife for our cake cutting, since it's supposed to be cheesy or whatever. It went over pretty well.

sleeveless dress, sheer top, tab sleeve blouse, sleeveless blouse, and some bootcut jeans.

i wonder if you're getting the same tab sleeve blouse that i got! i love mine! and the rest of your stuff sounds like it has a lot of potential to be fun :). let us know when you get it!
