Shooting at an Orlando Gay Night Club

"Such mixed signals confuse Americans. Officials urge citizens to maintain eternal vigilance against radical Islamic terrorism. Yet soft-headed liberals like Obama and Hillary Clinton consider it bigoted to put “Muslim” and “extremism” in the same sentence.

This contorted effort to keep Muslims comfortable ironically yields the ultimate discomfort: death by jihad. This week’s perpetrator was ISIS devotee Omar Saddiqui Mateen.

Toxic political correctness cows Americans into a policy of “See something, say nothing,” as former counterterrorist Philip Haney titled his new book."

i'm just not sure what the point is of an editorial like that, other than give someone with sailor's opinions reinforcement.

The reality is you are very extreme re:Muslims. That's your choice, but it is the truth.

You and many on the left tend to call everyone you disagree with extreme. In your usage the word has become pretty much meaningless.

More to the point: you don't understand Islam very well. Please note how successful efforts to assimilate a large Muslim communities has been in the west:

Europe and the US are dramatically different in this process. That's why they have so many more problems. But you paint everyone with the same brush.

Regardless of how the right portrays US immigration, it is light years ahead of Europe because of the EU. It's infinitely harder to get into and stay in the US. Also, once you get into Europe, you can go anywhere. Add to this we are one nation versus dozens of nations.

Your simplistic outlook doesn't make sense in the US.

you don't seem to understand the difference between ethics and statutory law; that's to be expected for someone who thinks that Muslims will easily be assimilated and is apparently already in harmony with sharia law

what are you talking about? "sharia" is just a name, same as "10 Commandments". She thinks that God's law/The Bible says one thing, contrary to statutory law. She decided that God's Law superseded Statutory Law.

im not sure how you interpret it otherwise.

There is no doubt there are fringe groups that think that way. That's not what Mystery Man said. He said the republican "party."

Yeah but "fringe groups" that may be fringe when it comes to America at large are not fringe in the Republican Party. They have a tremendous amount of influence in it. See: the fact that their candidate is the nominee

"The Times article provides a disturbing example from this context. To avoid jail, a gay youth agreed to a sentence that required him to undergo drug “treatment” at Teen Challenge, a proselytizing evangelical organization that claims that “the ‘Jesus Factor’ is . . . the only true answer to the drug problem.” (If the court did not offer the youth a non-religious alternative to Teen Challenge, then that was a constitutional violation in itself.)
The youth signed a contract that contained a mandatory religious arbitration clause. Facing potential incarceration, the youth undoubtedly felt that he was in no position to object to the clause – if he even read it at all.
Soon after Teen Challenge subjected him to gay-conversion therapy, the youth died of a drug overdose. As a result of the religious arbitration clause, the youth’s mother was unable to pursue a wrongful-death case against Teen Challenge in secular court and learn the details of the events that led to her son’s death."

Too bad the judge can't be held responsible civilly and criminally for his unconstitutional actions.

Christian Sharia is alive and has a gay kid.

Yes, unlucky. In a 1 on 1 battle, I'd call the odds about even, with a slight edge to the good guy because he has the element of surprise on his side.

I'd go with the guy with the assault rifle who was expecting to shoot people.
