I usually do too. I just think this show stinks of Lost, as in it's just being weird to try to seem deep, when in reality the writers have no idea where they are going with it, or why.
Aren't they just following a book?

Not from what I heard. I haven't read the book, but I heard that the show was significantly changed from the book.Aren't they just following a book?
I want to like this show, but god damn is it depressing. It's three years after the disappearance and everyone is still walking around in a trance. Most people seem to have become nihilists.
Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.
This is my problem with the show. Hate to say it, but people have short memories. 3 years is a long time for people to be walking around all depressed and weird still. I feel like it would go back to life as normal by then
People have clung to religion primarily to be able to rationalize sense in the world for pretty much our entire existence. Giving us something that significant that we can't explain would drive us all nuts.
Yes, this is an unexplained disaster/happening that affected 10% of us.
At least after a hurricane or a terrorist attack, you can reconcile the fact that not only did it not affect you personally (very likely) but there's also a reason behind it (weather/assholes).
Having people just vanish would call into question everything about our existence. Religion would implode/explode and more people would give up on life.
That's was a good episode last night.

Really liked that episode. However it seems with the protesters out side the whole "Why would anybody want to impersonate you?" question had a pretty simple answer.
I'm leaning toward the supernatural. If not, this show isn't sustainable at its current pace.
