The Official 2015 MLB Season Thread - Congrats, Royals

Dem poor Phillies. Soon to be 7-28 on the road. Woof.

O's hit a franchise record 8 HRs and win 19-3 over Phils. Headed to Philly for two more. Machado had a huge game. Going to be a tight AL East race.

Lots of high scoring games today, don't feel like doing the math, but could be getting close to a one-day record for most runs scored.

someone please post the story about the phillies bullpen phone

Wilson Ramos hit two HRs of two different position players tonight. That has to be a record.

Frenchy is pitching and is clearly laboring. Pitching coach keeps picking up the phone but bull pen doesn't answer. They cut to the bullpen and the phone is off the hook. So the Philly coaches literally wave a white towel (flag). Game is like 18-3. So the bullpen finally picks up the phone......and then they don't warm anyone up.

The pitching coach goes to the mound and Utley is furious. Franceour pitched over 40 pitches.

Looked for (and found) a video of Utley berating the pitching coach: https://twitter.com/JWerthsBeard/status/610995754346389504. Probs the most animated you'll ever see that guy get.

Seriously though - letting a position player throw nearly 50 pitches is straight retarded.

I can't see the video from Twitter, but you can see it at 1:54 here:

Frenchy gave up two runs in two innings, which made him the Phils' best pitcher last night.

Wilson Ramos the first hitter to ever homer off two different position players in one game. Was it a full moon last night?

A couple new details have started coming out today about the Cardinals hacking, which I'm paraphrasing here from various Houston and St. Louis media tweets/articles:

The Astros' database was breached more than once. The 2014 breach is what started this whole thing, but the FBI investigation apparently discovered that the database was hacked once in 2013, too.

The FBI traced the hack to a house in Jupiter, FL, which is where St. Louis has its spring training facilities. The apparent implication is that members of the Cards' front office were renting the house together during 2014 spring training, and that's when one of the hacks occurred.

The FBI actually went to the Cardinals offices in February of this year and took some of their computers. To me, that indicates that the FBI has good reason (standard is probably reasonable suspicion, but what the fuck do I know?) to believe that at least one breach occurred from the office computers, or that the office computers somehow contain evidence relating to the hack.

Members of the St. Louis front office have started to hire lawyers, according to the St. Louis media. All of those lawyers claim that the FBI investigation is not focused on their clients, however.

The Astros front office has apparently said that their "formulas" for player projections aren't available on their database, and that it would be nearly impossible to reverse engineer the equation. From the Astros perspective, the most valuable thing on their database was apparently their draft board and scouting reports on numerous players.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knew whether the Reff had sucked it yet. Thanks.

The Official 2015 Mother's Basement MLB Season Thread - Busch Administration ...

Without their everyday 1st baseman, catcher, center field and right fielder they certainly aren't very good.
