The official running the table thread

If we as fans believe what Clawson is talking about as far as becoming a championship program then there's an honest truth to be told about this year. This has been a very exciting season so far at 7-0. But our defense is not good and in some ways our offense is a couple of injuries away from being ordinary. I really hope we go undefeated, get the country talking about us, go to the Orange Bowl, play somebody we can beat, and keep building. The worst thing that could happen to us would be to somehow qualify for the playoff and get annihilated by Bama, Ga, OSU or the like. Especially bad would be losing to Cincy who is still not nationally respected. So let's beat Michigan, or Ole Miss, or Tx A&M or Penn St. or Ok St. in the Orange bowl. If we do that Clawson has made a point to the country, the press and our conference opponents. If not we're back to LOWF.

Miserable post. Eeyore would be proud

Wake fans have a hard time processing and understanding success. It’s like Stockholm syndrome.

Wake fans on this board have a hard time not engaging with known trolls who have a predictable schtick.

“Here’s why someone gifting you $10MM tomorrow is actually the WORST thing that could happen to you”

The ability to shit on UNC/Duke/State fans for like the next century would be worth it regardless.

Most teams are a key player going down away from ordinary. See What happened to PSU when the had theirvQB1 go down. Wake has already had significant injuries preseason on O, losing two starters. Wake's record is after and in spite of those personnel losses. Deoth being tested now.

Making the CFP in the year Carolina was supposed to and Howell was supposed to win the Heisman (in their minds, and I guess the complicit media) will be the chefs kiss to end all chefs kisses.

Will be very interesting the scenario of 1-loss Bama, 1-loss UGA, 1-loss OSU, 1-loss Oregon, undefeated OU, undefeated Cincy, undefeated Wake. feel like we get left out there.

That wouldn't be a great scenario but

- Undefeated ACC > 1-loss Pac 12

- Undefeated ACC > Undefeated AAC

- OU ain't going undefeated. They've been playing with fire against shitty teams all season. They close the season with 3 ranked opponents (Baylor, Iowa St, Okla St) plus the B12CG. No way they don't get a loss.

- OSU is getting another loss. They still play Penn St, Mich, Mich St and B10CG.

- This might be the year UGA finally beats Bama. I'm still counting on Kirby shitting the bed against Saban until he proves otherwise. But very possible it's an undefeated UGA and 2-loss Bama.

Why are we worried about what everyone else is gonna do if we won’t ever lose?

If you haven't noticed, there haven't been all too many close games over the years in the CFP. Majority have been blowouts.

Saying that making the orange bowl, instead of the CFP is better for the program may be the dumbest thing I've seen on this board.

Making the CFP would be arguably the biggest accomplishment in the history of NC college football........like ever.

Lol. I would hate to play a Cincinnati team that we could realistically beat and advance to the national championship game.

If it came down to Wake and Cincy in the CFP they would probably pair us with the other 2 schools to avoid the "chance" one of us is in the final

PSU is an ally (ew) now that they have 2 losses, one of them to Illinois. They have no shot. We need tOSU to boat race whoever wins the Michigan/MSU game but suffer another loss elsewhere. This is not the correct thread for this, but, while we're hoping for things, we might as well hope for the majority of conf champs to have 2+ losses. There's a universe where a 1 loss Wake team with only a close loss in Death Valley (ew), still makes it. Basically just cheer for B1G East chaos, against OU, Oregon, Cincy.

And Georgia or Auburn to beat Bama

If Wake goes undefeated through the next 3 you probably need to shut it down until the ACC championship. Give the backups some run.
