#TheRivalry: Wake - Boston College Predictions

BC jumps on Wake early as [Redacted] gets caught looking past his final Superbowl to his senior night on Thursday. Down 32-20 at the half, the players finally revolt and lock Bzzz out of the locker room. Cameras catch Bzzz slipping out the back entrace of the Joel in tears. Meanwhile Childress gives an epic halftime speech that is unknowingly filmed by a trainer and goes viral across the internet next week. The Deacs come back to annihilate BC posting the largest second half margin of victory in the history of the conference winning the game 86-48. The Prius slips out of town in the middle of the night and Bzzz is never seen in Winston-Salem again.

Childress is named interim head coach for the remainder of the season. The Deacs ride the momentum to a surprising win against Duke later in the week and become the Cinderella media darlings of the conference tournament week. They are relatively untested on Thursday of the ACC tourament against GaTech, then continue beating Maryland in the quarters and Syracuse in the semis before falling in a 4OT finals rematch with Duke. Incidentally that game becomes legendary in terms of egregiously biased officiating and effectively ends Karl Hess's career.

The Deacs just miss out on an NCAA tourament bid. However Shaka takes notice and decides make the jump a few weeks later. He names Randolph Childress as "co-head coach". Wake Forest goes on to become a dynasty of UCLA 60/70s proportions.

Twenty five years later on the eve of Shaka and Randolphs HOF induction ceremony ESPN releases a 30 for 30 entitiled "The Lockout: How One March Night Forever Changed College Basketball".

78-59 Wake. My BOLD prediction, however, is that CMM hits a three pointer!

GO DEACS!!

Whatever happens, the winner of the PH/Jaybone bet needs to script an epic victory post. No way the Deacs beat Duke or Miami on the road, so this is the game that decides it all.

WAKE are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

So we can't say: "We may be losing, but at least we're covering."

1-0 in the last 1 games, though!

I think we win handily today.

Wake 74
BC 61
