Third world state can't even get its citizens water but still petty enough to punish struggling, debt-ridden people in its state. Republicans have no redeeming qualities.

Really it is the opposite. Forgiven loans are always taxable unless they specifically are not. The feds apparently opted out of taxation of forgiven student loans. So at the state level Mississippi isn't actively changing anything, they are just not changing the status quo. The actual question is what states are going to proactively exempt forgiven student loans from taxation.
