This story is nuts.

The Trump administration strong armed Ecuador (threatened to pull military support) and other countries in an effort to kill a WHO resolution recommending mothers around the world breastfeed their infants. The resolution also encouraged countries to "strive to limit the inaccurate or misleading marketing of breast milk substitutes."

At this point you're probably wondering why the Trump administration would act like complete asshats about breastfeeding - something universally seen as one of the best things (and cheapest) a mother can do to raise a healthy child.

Answer: baby formula lobbyists looking to protect their clients' businesses

This should also do wonders for female support of the Republican Party which is already cratering to historically low levels.

Just a reminder

Nestle infant formula scandal

Advocacy groups and charities have accused Nestlé of unethical methods of promoting infant formula over breast milk to poor mothers in developing countries.[13][14] For example, IBFAN claim that Nestlé distributes free formula samples to hospitals and maternity wards; after leaving the hospital, the formula is no longer free, but because the supplementation has interfered with lactation, the family must continue to buy the formula. IBFAN also allege that Nestlé uses "humanitarian aid" to create markets, does not label its products in a language appropriate to the countries where they are sold, and offers gifts and sponsorship to influence health workers to promote its products.[15]

This story just sucks. When Russia has to step in and do the right thing because of our moral failure, then we are losing. Just a pathetic move by our country and our administration.

Obvious evidence of no collusion.

What about Welch's ? Shouldn't we boycott them ?

So, when are we draining the swamp again?

"Trump administration" Jesus Christ. Yeah, this was all Trumps decision, for America to blatantly use their trade leverage to protect private American corporate interests. This will surely never happen again when he leaves office...

From the article: "The intensity of the administration’s opposition to the breast-feeding resolution stunned public health officials and foreign diplomats, who described it as a marked contrast to the Obama administration, which largely supported W.H.O.’s longstanding policy of encouraging breast-feeding"

So yes, the Trump Administration made this decision. Who knows if the toddler in chief made the actual decision, but it his administration and he can overrule anything he doesn't agree with. Will it happen again in the future? Who the hell knows, but I'm more concerned about blatantly immoral behavior happening right now rather than in the hypothetical future.

Trump is such a clever idiot.

He understands that for most of his idiot followers, just undoing whatever Obama did is....good.

F’ing dumbasses.

They even hate sucking on titties.

Just seems so ridiculous, we all know the benefits of breast feeding, every woman cannot do this for various reasons so there will always be a market for substitutes, no reason for US to not support this resolution.
