U2 accused of ripping off song

surfin usa sounds almost identical to chuck berry's sweet little sixteen

Yeah, they mention that one in that Rolling Stone article I linked, too. My Joni Mitchell/Stones one is BRAND NEW. I am on the edge of something serious here.

did anyone ever compare the air that i breathe by the hollies and creep by radioheads

Another extremely important one is Papa Roach in Last Resort used the same chord progression as Green Day in Brain Stew

People should be able to sue artists if we think they ripped someone off.

Did you guys see what I did there? "The EDGE of something serious here." The EDGE.

there is no universe where the edge wanted to be in or play like television

As a member of U2, Irish guitarist The Edge simulated Television's guitar sound with an effects pedal.[71] He later said he had wanted to "sound like them" and that Marquee Moon's title track had changed his "way of thinking about the guitar".[72]

I mean, kind of. He liked Television's two-guitar sound and there was only 1 of him so he turned to an echo pedal. As far as the actual punk sound of Television, if he ever actually tried to capture that, that attempt was gone after Boy.

I'm not familiar with television's post Richard Hell "punk" sound

The band boasts 2 of the greatest guitarist ever and a terrific rhythm section

Please enlighten me
