I like lights and mulled wine and family and shit, but a month of bad music, bad movies, and self-righteous, materialistic, look-at-me performance from both the haters and the festive crowd annoys me

So, I guess the unpopular opinion is that Marvel movies are great. Marvel movies are great.

If you don't enjoy Ragnarok, Winter Soldier, Civil War, the Ant-Mans, Infinity War/Endgame or the GOTGs, you don't like really good, well-acted and directed action movies and/or comedies.

Agree that BP is one of the weaker entries though.

they're some of the highest grossing, most viewed and loved and critically acclaimed movies ever produced
 
When Disney+ first came out, I started to watch the Marvel movies in order because I'd only seen the first Iron Man.

I'm still trying to get through them all over a year later.

I like some of them enough. The bad ones are really bad, though. I dug Captain America... I forget which one I liked best, though. I think I only saw the first 2.

I can see why people like them. Especially kids. It's better than the Transformers crap and other movies like that.
 
I’m a Marvel movie fan but do subscribe to the idea that locking so many great actors into these long commitments deprives us of other projects they could be doing

we could poll it, but there's a nearly 800 page thread largely about marvel movies, one of the most posted on threads on the boards
 
Watching a Marvel movie and thinking that it's cinema is like going to Epcot and telling people you're well traveled now.
 
There are plenty of Marvel movies that are just nerdy jerkoff movies to advance the overarching plot arcs of the Infinity Saga, but to say that all of the Marvel movies are trash is to be an ignorant buffoon (LOOKING AT YOU MILHOUSE). There are several Marvel movies that are legitimately good and I'd put a few of them on par with anything that your "traditional" moviemakers create.

Hating on popular things is for the birds.
