Wake Baseball 2018

Good effort to attend.
Announcer said a bus back to Winston. Is that correct? Long ride if true.

I hope Wake isn't that cheap, making the team take a 12+hour bus ride. Hope it is just a bus ride to Logan Airport and then flight to GSO.

I overheard Lanzilli's or one of the other players families say something about that. Figured they were talking about something else but I guess not.

Bus ride to Charlotte, plane to Boston. You guys need to get on board with Les at Deacon Illustrated, money well spent

wow clemson swept at home by a under .500 Miami squad. We hang on and we're tied in the standings with the series matchup looming next weekend. Can you say huuuuugggggeeee?!

Klempton Monty Lee's won only one of 3 versus Miami so great to see them lose a series and we sweep our series.

Les tweeted about the bus. With the weather up here the players voted to ride the bus because of delays.

Only way into NCAA’s is wining ACC tournament. If we pitch like we did in this series it can be done.

Some games that are really hurting us. Losing a game at Santa Clara in the 9th. Losing that game to ND. Not taking one at Carolina.

Switch us to 20-17 and 12-6 in the ACC and we are probably on the inside of the bubble.

Wake could still get in with an impressive last month of the year (14 or 15 more wins) but I agree the most likely way in at this point is winning ACCT.

At least it is good to know that we have a cadre of winning pitchers. Just not enough to assure a successful season.

If it wasn't for the 3 starting pitcher and a few relievers, we would be awful. No one is really tearing things up on the hitting side and most are flirting with the Mendoza line.

It appears that "Rake Forest" is not a thing this season.

Most of the players have put the Mendoza line in the rear view mirror. DiPonzio and Harvey are the only players under .200 with at least one PA/G. The freshman continue to improve as the season progresses. Five runs can win games if the pitching stays strong, a fourth starter emerges and the defense is solid.

Honestly unlike most sports, college baseball relies on offense. Every team is going to have bad pitching. It takes the offense to overcome that.

Particularly in the mid-week games when your 4th or 5th starter (or bullpen by committee) is being used. Last year, WF just bludgeoned teams during the middle week (including solid programs like Coastal). WF does not have the lineup depth this year.

WF's remaining ACC Series: Clemson (H), GT (A), State (A) and UVA (H). This weekend's Clemson series is huge. Amazingly, WF could move up to second in the loaded Atlantic Division with a home series win. Pretty clear that WF has the best (or among the best) 3 weekend starters in the conference as WF can play with (and beat) anyone on the weekends.

So, our 3 best pitchers always get 7 days rest between starts? Is that a guideline, rule, cautious approach, or what?
