did I just hear this dude coming into pitch for LSU pitched 40 pitches yesterday?

not totally disagreeing, but the biggest impact there is fooling hitters that one pitch is another, hence messing up the guessing

Not really. These guys are throwing 90+ with movement and wipeout sliders. In general there are some mechanical things that you can adjust, but nearly impossible to do in game.
