He did have that nickname and he played an avg of 16 min/game and his stats are below (awful FT shooter): (after transferring to Penn he scored just 119 pts over his 3 seasons).

The two mccaffery boys who played at Iowa were completely average and that’s being generous. Hope baby bro has more game than them

Not sure that is fair.

Conor McCaffrey (the one who just graduated), was honorable mention all Big 10, he led Iowa in assists and graduated with the second highest assist to TO ratio in NCAA history. He was far from great, but he was a solid player at Iowa.

Patrick McCaffrey is the taller one (6-9) and the more talented of the two. Had some huge games to start the season:

21 points 5 boards in a win over Clemson
24 points 7 boards in an OT loss to Wisconsin

Patrick was averaging 15 ppg through the first 10 games, and then, missed a bunch of games for mental health reasons; when, he returned, his minutes were limited, but he still put up 23 against Nebraska. Think that both the McCaffrey boys can play, and would be power conference players even if their dad wasn't the HC.

He was a big recruit out of Philly and that was his nickname in high school. He was recruited by Tacy to replace Skip Brown. Unfortunately, he couldn’t shoot at all.

If this is true, then it's tragic. Hope the kid is ok as well. I can't imagine being the driver of a car who killed someone accidentally.

His parents Fran and Margaret released the following statement:

“On May 22nd, just after leaving school, our 16-year-old son was the driver in a vehicle/pedestrian accident. Investigators have told us that it was an unavoidable accident with no evidence to suggest distracted driving. The pedestrian, who was jogging at the time of the accident, was waved in front of our son’s passing vehicle by the driver of another vehicle. The jogger, Sgt. First Class Corey Hite, passed away two weeks after the accident from the injuries he sustained.

We are devastated by this tragedy. SFC Hite’s family has our deepest sympathies. While our family continues to process the events of the past weeks and help our son cope with this accident, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Yeah, not trying to victim blame but I bike/run/walk the dog across intersections many times a day out here and you can't be trusting traffic without visual confirmation. Such a sad situation.
