Wyatt Crespi: https://247sports.com/player/wyatt-crespi-46084896/

For Nick Anderson, I could not find a recruiting profile, but here is a blurb from his HS (Centreville HS in VA):
Everyone can’t wait to see Nick Anderson take his talents and athleticism to Wake Forest for football. Growing up, Nick has played many other sports, but football is where his passion is at. This season, he also played basketball for the Wildcats. In 2016, he won Nova’s youth football player of the year. He has been an amazing impact and huge contributor to the Wildcats football program. In the last three years, Anderson has been an all district defensive back, 1st team district punter, 1st team region punter, first team all region defensive back, 2nd team all district defensive player of the year and offensive all purpose player of the year and 2nd team all state defensive back, while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. He is a strong, dominant player that everyone looks up to.

Also excited to see what George Sells teammate Jack Porter can do. Dude had some insane stats there

This is another sign that football recruiting has taken another uptick. Preferred Walk-Ons of this caliber just didn't come to Wake. Now there are nine guys on the list, all of whom seem like strong contributors to the scout teams. And quite capable of pushing some of the scholarship guys for rotation or special teams game time in a few years.

Appreciate all the work they are willing to put in, and paying Wake tuition etc. to boot.

Also good to see that Nick has been a punter. Always good to have another leg to help work out the punt returner and cover teams.

I try to follow Chris Coulter’s tweets. Last November he posted a Thomas Grippo commitment ....6-3 260 OL kid NJ power Seton Hall Prep. Maybe he got a scholarship elsewhere and isn’t coming to Wake.

Grippo and Jack Porter are coming. List I had was solely what I had off of memory not a comprehensive list. I can't remember all the PWOs :(

Thanks Cam....didn’t realize we take so many PWO’s.

Porter could potentially fill that Cade Carney role

on special teams perhaps, but our bruiser for a running back wont be a thing until 2021 at least. This year will be less smashmouth football more balance, leaning speed with CBS, KW3, and my personal favorite to be one of the best RBs at Wake in Kendrell Flowers

Not at 5'10" 175. If he beefs up quite a bit, but really he seems more like a stop/start, quick moves runner vs size of speed, at least from his video.

Walker should be the #1 guy on any list. I was disappointed we didn't see more of Flowers, since he could have played two more games and kept his redshirt.

Got to learn pass protect blocking. Pretty sure he will.

To be effective running the football, the general idea is to stay away from guys wearing different color shirts.
To be effective at pass blocking, you have to deliberately run into guys wearing different color shirts.

Running back recruits are usually instinctively very good at the first. It takes time for them to learn the second and to be able to switch thought patterns from play to play. In one play you are the ball carrier, and want to try to make an oncoming linebacker miss you. The next play, you are in pass protection, and you need to deliberately run into the same linebacker as he blitzes. Look forward to seeing Flowers and the other young backs get this.

I understand all the hype around KW3, he's quick and flashy and a big play runner.

CBS at this time is a much more complete player and that's not a jab at KW3 at all. He HAS to be a better blocker, especially considering the question marks on the OL, and needs to be more consistent as a pass-catching back. John Hunter and Clawson have both said if you can not block and/or do things without the ball in your hands, you will not play. Hence why KW3 didn't see a bigger chunk of carries in the Cuse game or Syracuse, and why Flowers didn't see the field at all minus his 2 drives vs clemson

CBS lacks the big play ability that KW3 has.

And dave clawson has shown he doesn't give two shits about that in terms of deserving playing time

I would say that Clawson gives at least two shits about big play ability for his RBs, or KW3 wouldn't have seen the field as much as he did. Do agree that KW3 snaps were limited because of concerns about his blocking among other details that the more experienced backs had mastered. Fully expect KW3 to be a more complete back in year 2 and going forward.

This makes me come off as a big KW3 hater(which i'm not)

Remember CBS was suspended down the stretch and Cade wasn't(isn't ever) healthy. Even in the Pinstripe bowl he only had 8 rushes, Syracuse 10, Duke 17. Compare that to games where both Cade and CBS were both healthy:

Elon: 9 carried for 91
BC: 2/8
Louisville: 4/10
FSU: 1/-1
VT: 3/11
Clemson: 6/16

When both Cade and CBS were there, Clawson made it a point both in game and afterwards in interviews to say if you aren't blocking or doing things without the ball in your hands, you will not play. He's going to be locked into carries this year, but him learning how to block/be able to do things without the ball in his hands, is something that I'm assuming Clawson is a bit peeved about missing in spring

This isn’t direct at Cam by any stretch but I just don’t understand the love some have for CBS. The guy simply has shown very little on field production and is still living off this rep or projection as a burner. Don’t get it but hope that KW3 has used the past year judiciously in terms of learning the offense and additional responsibilities as a #1 back.
