Interesting article. I enjoyed my Zen Buddhism class with Dr. Ford, and it would have been interesting to have this researcher speak about mindfulness meditation from a scientific perspective. Here is a link to the article:

I participated in a brain imaging study they did on meditation and pain sensation earlier this year. Really interesting stuff, and I felt like there was a noticeable subjective effect. Looking forward to seeing those results.
