Wake Tennis 2017-2018

We went and had a great time. Late start, cool evening, a bit breezy. Crowd was rowdy (which was mostly good). The tennis was top notch on both sides. Congrats to the coaches and players!
 
UVA's #1 was super annoying out there. Glad to see Tros put him to sleep.
 
FWIW, UVA was missing their #2 player (he's been out for a month but should be back soon), so could be a different match if we face them again. Great to get the W this time though
 
Made it out to the match yesterday and it was a great atmosphere and a great match overall. Always try to make it out to a couple tennis matches a year and really enjoyed this one. It was my first since the new outdoor seating was built - came to the unc match but it was moved inside.

Congrats to the Tennis Deacs, both men and women, for two great wins yesterday.
 
The women's team is having a solid season too. They're in the top half of the ACC with a month left (although they haven't played some of the top teams yet).

No issue with Miami, and won't have an issue with A&T either later this afternoon. Uspensky is the only Deac to drop a set today.
 
There is some weird shit going on in this A&T match.

First, there's apparently no live scoring even though someone is live tweeting. Second, we're only playing five players in singles (forfeiting #6) because Petros had to leave for the Davis Cup and Gojo is apparently hurt? Not sure what happened to Skander, but he's not playing either even though he played doubles.
 
i mean wasnt there live scoring for the doubles?
 
Skander is playing for Tunisia this weekend as well against Petros and Cyprus.

A lot of this was because A&T is a very weak team - 0-12 coming into the match.

The only other player on the team is Patrick Hannity, and he must be red shirting.
 
Natty is a very realistic goal, though we have to avoid injuries because we are not deep at all. Also UVA at full strength will be tough.
 
Lets hope TCU and Virginia are on the other side of the bracket.
